The blog will keep you up to date with the activity and achievements that are going on in and around The Foundry.

Come and try Schmooling 26th March 6 till 9.45pm

You can have a go at this (no extra charge) this Friday. You use wooden hand held 'axes' with a ring of rubber at the end which is looped over the normal climbing holds to climb the wall. Have a look at http://www.schmoolz.com/. A different approach to dry tooling in doors.

BMC Junior squad and team training day 20th March

On Saturday close to forty 12 to 18 year olds climbed up to 5 routes each. (Rob Napier and Dan Walker had set 15 new routes to attempt). Though it was only supposed to be a training day, climbers were never the less giving it their all. This was no doubt in the knowldge that the Team Manager, Ian Dunn, coach Tom Randall and others were watching performances very closely to help select future team members. Hopefully I will have some images of the event coming soon!

Youth Climbing Series Final Round 13th March

On saturday 52 Peak area young climbers came to The Foundry to compete in the final round of the Peak Area Series. Each climber had to climb 3 routes and 3 boulder problems. Rob Napier did an excellent job with the setting, providing some great climbs. There were no ties in any of the 6 categories which is always a sign of a well set comp.

Some excellent results from Foundry Academy members and other young Foundry regulars include Abigail Rivett's 1st place in the girls 8-10, Pareesa Tai's 2nd in girls 11-13, Thomas Lee's 1st in boys 8-10, James Waterhouse and Jake Beech taking the top two positions in the boys 11-13 and Finn Mckay's 3rd in the boys 14 -16.

Well done to all who competed in the 3 rounds and hats off to those of you who got through to the final on 12th June at Ratho, Edinburgh!

Results are at http://indoorsout.co.uk/index.htm#brycs2010results.htm and on the notice board at The Foundry.

CragX are now the biggest Evolv stockist in the UK!

We have just had delivery of another three new Evolv rock shoe models at CragX. The Optimus Prime, Bandit and Royale bring us up to nine Evolv rock shoes - more than any other stockist. See them all here.

We've had the best range of FiveTen shoes in the country for a while and we're really pleased to be able to say the same for Evolv. With 35 rock shoe models kept in stock (and that doesn't include clearance oddments) we have the best range by far in the Sheffield area and one of the best ranges in the country.
