Beastmaker 1000s back at CragX

Finally, all of us non-beasts can start our journey to beastdom again. Beastmaker have just delivered us a couple of boxes of Beastmaker 1000s (and a few extra 2000s).
Wannabe beasts should give us a ring to reserve one - we never seem to be able to hang on to the beasts for long.

Varsity Bouldering competition

There was an excellent turn out of 73 competitors for the comp though the majority came from Shef Uni (53 !). Only 38 returned their score sheets so we will set a few more lower end problems next year. Having said that the winner, Paul Latham, got 197, a brilliant score as there were some very tricky problems.

Overall winners were Sheffield Uni with 516 to Hallam's 295. The scores are worked out using top tow male and female scores from each uni.

Top 5 male(all from Shef Uni)/ 5 female

Paul Latham 197
Martin Watson 179
Joe Cook 162
Tom Butterworth 156
Malcolm Smith 156
Lisa Trollope 77 (1st woman, 18th overall) SU
Rosie Gibson 63 SU
Lousie Kelly 34 H
Stephanie Cray 29 SU
Nina Flashner 10 H

The winner and runners up received £20 and £10 vouchers for CragX Climbing shop. Prizes can be collected from reception if you have not already got them.
